In fact, at the time, the 2014 American Silver Eagle BU coin set a record for single-year mintage at 44,006,000 coins sold. During this period of intense demand, the San Francisco Mint had been reenlisted to help supplement output from the West Point Mint. The only date mark during this range not to set a record was the 2012 coin.

The 500 coins are packaged in a green US Mint Monster Box that holds 25 individual tubes of 20 coins each. As BU Silver Eagles, these coins do not have an S mint mark from the San Francisco Mint. However, the coins are known to have originated at San Francisco courtesy of the mint strap on the US Mint Monster Box that identifies San Francisco as the mint of origin.

On the obverse of 2014 American Silver Eagle Coins, you will find the image of Walking Liberty. This left-profile relief shows Liberty walking toward the sun on the horizon with the American flag draped around her frame as she carries branches of oak and laurel in her left hand.

Designed in 1986 for this series by John Mercanti, this iteration of the heraldic eagle has a powerful eagle in front-facing relief clutching the arrows of war and the olive branch of peace as it supports the US national shield.
